OPERATIONAL POLICY
Audit Committee
The Audit Committee is responsible for providing internal audit services, maintaining detailed records of audits, inventories, and submitting audited financial reports either quarterly or upon request by the Board of Directors and the General Assembly. Its primary duties include:
- Monthly audits of cash receipts and petty cash.
- Developing policies for petty cash management.
- Overseeing audit procedures and collaborating with accountants to provide guidance to DEPPC staff.
- Conducting audits on all transactions, including over-the-counter activities.
Election Committee
The Election Committee manages the electoral process, with the authority to:
Oversee the conduct of elections.
- Count and certify election results officially.
- Announce the winners.
- Address and resolve election-related disputes, with initial decisions made by the committee and appeals processed through the Board of Directors or the Cooperative Development Authority for further mediation.
Credit Committee
The Credit Committee manages the cooperative’s credit operations, with responsibilities such as:
- Reviewing, evaluating, and deciding on loan applications and deposit withdrawals, with committee members’ applications being escalated to the Board.
- Overseeing the collection and management of all member loans.
- Performing additional duties as defined in the By-Laws and directed by the Board.
Conciliation Committee
This committee handles internal disputes within the cooperative, with roles that include:
- Mediating and resolving conflicts among members, officers, directors, and the community, subject to General Assembly approval.
- Developing conciliation rules and procedures.
- Executing further responsibilities as outlined in the By-Laws and assigned by the Board.
Education Committee
Chaired by the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors, this committee leads the cooperative’s educational and developmental initiatives for members, officers, and the EAGLE communities. Its structure and membership are determined by the Board.
Ethics Committee
Appointed by the Board of Directors, the Ethics Committee is responsible for formulating the cooperative’s governance codes, including the Code of Ethics. This committee is essential in maintaining the cooperative’s ethical standards.
Gender and Development Committee
Also appointed by the Board, this committee oversees initiatives related to gender and development, focusing on promoting gender equality and integrating gender considerations into the cooperative’s policies and programs.
These committees are fundamental to ensuring that the cooperative operates effectively, adheres to ethical standards, and meets legal and regulatory requirements, thereby fostering transparency and accountability within the organization.
